I bought this rusty truck on February 18, 2017. A 1963 1/2 ton short fleet bed with a big back window is a rare find these days. It has a lot of custom options too. This one has never been taken apart but the original 230ci engine has been replaced with a 250ci. The three speed on the column likes to get hung up between gears.
When purchased, it didn't run and the brakes were locked up. The harmonic balancer was bad and spun freely on the crank. Holes in the floor at the rockers is a common problem. Remarkably, all the custom trim was there. The PS front fender had been pinched by a slow collision at some point but it wasn't even enough to rip off the trim piece.
I pushed it around the yard for a few months until my shop was built. It stayed in the shop untouched for another 2 months. In June 2017 I started fixing things. After many hours of tinkering and replacing a few parts using some spare parts I had laying around, and about $70 in new parts, I now have a safe driver. It needs additional wiring repair and upgrades like seat belts. It's all there and I think it will be a lot of fun.
