A simple way to improve the gauge cluster lighting.
When I restored my gauge cluster, I considered using LED bulbs. I also considered using brighter bulbs. I want the gauge lights to be bright. All of my vehicles have the gauges turned to the highest setting.
I decided that the factory cardboard tubes that are used as conduits are not very efficient. A lot of the light never makes it to the lens. So I used aluminum foil tape as a liner for each tube. Now more of the light gets to the other end of the tube. It is tedious work, but the results are a brighter and whiter light being transmitted to the lens on the dash.
